Program Tabs

Program

The online RN to B.S.N. Completion Program provides the associate degree or diploma-prepared registered nurse an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (B.S.N.). Registered nurses who have completed an associate degree or diploma program are candidates for this online degree.

The program is 100% online with no campus visits or required class meeting times and designed to be flexible for working professionals hoping to continue their education. 

The RN to B.S.N. degree completion program can be completed in 12 months if enrolled full-time. 

Admissions

Application Deadlines:

  • November 1 (spring)
  • July 1 (fall)

Admissions & Requirements: 

  • Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse to practice in the United States.
  • An Associate Degree (AAS) from a university accredited by a US Department of Education-recognized institutional accreditor.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better in all eligible transferable credit.
  • At least a "C" in all required nursing prerequisites.
  • Completion of all prerequisites and general education courses.

All nursing programs at UNC Charlotte are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Application

Two applications are required for admission:

  1. School of Nursing application.
  2. University application.

Step 1: Apply to the School of Nursing:

School of Nursing Application

  • Email nursing-programs@uncc.edu a copy of transcripts (unofficial accepted) to evaluate previous coursework and establish a plan of study. Please do not to include personal information such as social security numbers.
  • Prior to enrolling in RN-to-B.S.N. program courses all students must have the following:
    •  Liability insurance.
    •  Meet University Immunization and Health Requirements.

Step 2: Apply for admissions to UNC Charlotte as a transfer student:

Undergraduate Admission Application

  • Apply to the RN-to-B.S.N. Completion Program when ALL nursing prerequisites and general education courses have been completed.
  • Apply to the Pre-RN-to-B.S.N., if necessary, in order to complete prerequisites.
