General Education and Elective Courses for Online Programs

At the School of Professional Studies, we’re committed to supporting adult learners. In partnership with various academic departments at UNC Charlotte, we design and offer high-quality online programs specifically tailored for adults. This commitment extends to ensuring accessible online pathways for completing general education requirements and a wide selection of online electives. This is essential to help adult learners succeed in their educational journeys.

The advising resource was developed as a guide for academic advisors and faculty to identify courses each term that are likely to have seats available for online students. Advisors should check Banner for course details and updated seat availability.

DE students are assigned registration times based on the number of completed credit hours, just like other undergraduates.

Reserved Course Sections

Certain course sections, or portions of them, are reserved for DE students each term.
