Compliance Matters: How We Stay Ahead of the Curve in Legal Authorization
To ensure that our online programs and courses are offered legally, the University must have authorization to provide our educational services where our students are located. While the Out-of-State Academic Activity Coordinating Council (OoSAACC), led by Steve Carter of the School of Professional Studies (SPS), has ensured that we have such authorization within the United States, the same cannot be said for foreign countries. It is, therefore, critical that online program leaders and faculty teaching online courses (whether part of an online program or not) keep in mind the following:
- Online programs cannot admit students located outside of the United States.
- Students located outside of the United States should not engage in online learning.
